ISPPU is run by volunteer members, so activities change as members come and go. The below gives a flavor of the events that we currently offer. Please check our calendar for upcoming events.
ISPPU Open House We hold our Newcomers Welcome Party at the beginning of each semester. It is a great occasion to get together and meet the ISPPU community over a buffet lunch! Everyone is welcome. This is a very casual and informal gathering so, please, come to say "hi" at the next Open House!
Rise & Shine Coffee One of ISPPU's most popular events, we hold Rise and Shine Coffee on the last Sunday of each month (although do check the calendar in case of alterations!). In the winter months we hold the coffee at Lakeside Apartments, while in the summer we meet out in the sunshine at Merwick-Stanworth. Both have plenty of space for children (and adults) to run around and play.
Parties & Potluck We hold Party & Potluck events to celebrate occasions like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Chinese New Year, ISPPU's birthday, etc., and we always round out the academic year with a celebratory barbecue. These events are a wonderful opportunity to discover and try food from all around the world, as we invite everyone to bring a dish to share!
Drinks Monthly seasonal ISPPU Drinks are a nice occasion to chill with your friends and meet new ones at a local bar. Casual, informal, non-sponsored -- but we usually aim for Happy Hour!
Arts and Crafts We run ad-hoc arts and crafts events, ranging from collaging to watercolors to wicker-basket weaving to knitting to ice sculpting, when weather allows.
Board-game and trivia nights We offer popular board-game and trivia nights for members to get together and relax over Exploding Kittens, Scrabble, Dixit, Carcasonne and many more. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks provided! Do bring your favorite games along.
